Reading the River
A squirtboat is made of glass and you are squeezed tightly into that bottle. Keep this in mind when you are picking lines through rapids. When picking your lines, try and follow the deepest part of the river. “Creeking” lines are not a good idea, no matter what your buddies tell you. Remember that you are in a low volume boat which will go under or through most hydraulics but can and will get sucked and squirted on boils and eddy lines. Beware of strainers, walls, rocks, and undercuts. Escape from a squirtboat is not easy.
