Getting the feel

Lets start by shoehorning yourself into the squirtboat next to a calm pool of water. Be careful sliding into the water, since your boat is made of glass. Paddle to the center of the pool and just “get the feel” of being in a squirtboat.


One of the first things you will notice about being in a squirtboat is that every little twitch of your hips will engage an edge. Think of it as sitting on a balance ball with your legs sticking straight out. To stay balanced, the upper body has to be separate from lower abs and hips. The same thing goes for a squirtboat, your upper body should stay in position all the time but the boat will always be moving underneath you. This movement is what allows you to engage the edges of the squirtboat into water and currents, which allows you to “squirt.”
