Welcome Center Opportunities

USFWS encourages Welcome Centers to plan outings to the refuges especially, but not exclusively, in conjunction with the following events:

  • National Trails Day, scheduled June 5, 2010
  • National Public Lands Day, scheduled Sept. 25, 2010

To plan a tour, cleanup day or other special event in a national refuge, a permit, free of charge, is required. The permit is not valid until approved and signed by the issuing refuge manager. The LGP resource toolkit includes a permit application and contact info for refuge managers. Park entrance fees are the same as National Parks, NPS annual, senior and volunteer passes are valid for entry.

Permit Application
